Today's Las Vegas stop of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez press tour featured some choice comments from all the event's key personalities. Following formalities from hotel executives, event coordinators, Fernando Beltran, Lou DiBella and boxing's Bobfather, Top Rank magnate Bob Arum, Martinez trainer Pablo Sarmiento was the first to get his flurry in. His target was Chavez Jr.'s trainer, Freddie Roach.

Golden Boy PPV "Action Heroes" = Interim Insanity >>>

by Suge Green | Mon. April 4, 2011

Reading about boxing in the morning, can be a somewhat irritating way to start one's day. I see all the usual gripes about Manny Pacquiao facing Sugar Shane Mosley, but the writers are silent about a PPV featuring Marco Maidana vs Erik Morales? Everybody in boxing says this is an execution, but for some reason to some it's still, "a good card."

Did boxing's cowboy with the white hat, Pacquiao rid all rings of evil in Dallas last week?

by Suge Green | Mon. July 12, 2010

With Top Rank Promotions fairly quiet and both Golden Boy Promotions and Team Mayweather completely silent, many are wondering if Manny Pacquiao succeeded in calling the bluff of Floyd Mayweather Jr. In 2009 Mayweather demanded Pacquiao call him out. Mayweather made it clear all Pacquiao had to do was say his name, and he would make a fight with him without hesitation. It's also been stated by Mayweather, if Pacquiao agrees to his drug-testing demands there will be a fight.

OtG Prospect: Introducing Jose Benavidez Jr. >>>

by Suge Green | Tue. June 29, 2010

Freddie Roach is reported to be more excited about 18-year-old light welterweight Jose Benavidez Jr., than any other prospect currently training out of his famed Wild Card Gym. Top Rank's Bob Arum is said to be singing in key with Roach, as the two share choruses praising Benavidez' world title and star potential. Benavidez earned his seventh consecutive knockout win Saturday when a body punch found it's mark on the torso of Josh Beeman just over one minute into the first round of their bout at the Alamodome, in San Antonio, Texas.. Benavidez gave his first in-depth boxing interview to ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG the following day.
