As of March 23, 2009 James Toney has formerly announced that he has ended his promotional relationship with Goossen Tutor Promotions and will now be fighting under his own Promotional Company Lights Out Promotions. Toney is also planning on returning to the ring in May under his new Promotional Company and has his sights set on a shot at a World title by the end of the year.
Toney who has been keeping fit by staying active in the gym is currently weighing 225 lbs and is also considering a return to the Cruiserweight division if the right fight were available.
Toney’s last fight was on December 13, 2008 against Fres Oquendo in which he won a 12 round split decision.
