BigTimeTimmy Tells It Like It Is: Pacquiao-Cotto Aftermath Edition

by BigTime Tim Kudgis
I know it has been a long time for you legions of “BigTime” Timmy fans, but I promise this edition will bring some fire. I have a lot of stuff on my mind, and I’m not holding anything back.
First and foremost, I have to give a big “That-A-Boy” to Pacman and International Player Freddie Roach, on a job well done this past weekend. Not only did Freddie bring a perfect game plan, but Pacman executed it to near perfection. Also, is it me or is 7 championships in 7 weight classes pretty damn amazing? He still is one fight away from this being, “The Manny Pacquiao Era.” The fight is now a necessity for boxing though, and it is…Pacquiao-Klitschko.
That was a joke.
Pacquiao-Mayweather is now a must. Floyd also needs to shut his mouth about a 65-35 split. There is no way he deserves that, if anything it should be vice-versa. Floyd may be the most technically sound, and in my opinion the P4P better fighter, but Pacman brings the boom so to speak. People love this all action, no quit fighter. We were stunned when he went up in weight from 135 to 147 to obliterate Oscar De La Hoya. Then it was back to 140 to defeat the King of that Division Ricky Hatton. Now his one sided beating of Miguel Cotto makes it official, he is the most EXCITING Fighter in boxing right now. Though it does seem everyone including Vegas, is confusing the terms, “exciting” and “complete.”
With that in mind, I would like to thank Vegas for helping me to retire early. Making Floyd a 7-5 underdog before the fight is even signed, is insane. This is the sports betting equivalent of investing in Microsoft when it first opened. Everyone should go out and mortgage their homes, take out loans, and get to Vegas while these odds are still good.
Now with everyone asking the question, “What is next for the Pacman?” I am going to have to ask a follow up… “What is next for Cotto?” Well, today is your lucky day, because I am about to answer my own question. It cannot be a Margarito rematch unless my Great Uncle Bob wants to ruin him, so who else does that leave? Who would be a good fight for Cotto? Who could he have a storyline with? Who has a giant cult internet following? If there is a fighter who’s name is the answer to all of these questions, he should be the next fight for Cotto. Oh wait, there is one fighter that is the answer to all of those questions….Francisco “El Gato” Figueroa.
I know what everyone is thinking. “Isn’t Gato 1-1-1 in his last 3 fights?” Yes, but he lost to former a World Champion, and a man that Punches like a mule, Randall Bailey. His last fight was a draw with Rashad Holloway, which happened to be his 1st fight at 147, and was switched from an 8 round to a 6 round fight at the last minute. As we all know, the storyline is there…Cotto of course, expelled Gato from his training camp in preparation for his battle with Pacquiao..
Don’t worry Uncle Bob, I already worked the Top Rank PPV out for you…
:
Cotto-Gato
Foreman-Duddy
Chavez Jr.-Ouma
Korobov-??? (Let’s say Josh Hammock from Arkansas)
You’re welcome. I expect some kickbacks for supplying you with my match making expertise.
Before I go, I have to touch on the Super 6 fight coming up on Saturday. Mikkel Kessler faces Andre Ward, in Ward’s hometown of Oakland, California. While the hometown advantage may usually cause one to favor a particular fighter over another, in this particular case, I believe it is much too early in Ward’s career for him to be in the ring with such a complete fighter as Kessler. As much as I would like to see Ward get America a win, I just don’t see it happening. I don’t care if the fight is literally in Ward’s backyard, with his parents and brother as the judges…it’s just not his time.
Big ups to Versus for picking up the 12/3 Star Boxing card.
Until next time Bigtime Fanatics!!

Who was stunned? Go back in the archives, I called that muthafukka like Jimmy the Greek calling the ponies, baby, I told the Earth that Oscar’s left hook was going to miss over Manny’s head by about an inch and it did all night long, when Manny wasnt pounding his Golden face flatter than Amy Winehouse. Mayweather is POSTURING and preening, and barking. 65-35 is a joke and he knows it, he is just highballing. This will be a 2.1 million PPV Blockbuster and an instant MGM Grand Garden Sell out, sorry Yankee Stadium. There is too much $$$ on the table for Money to stall for too long on, especially when Sugar can and will take this fight (Manny Pac) in July if Floyd decides his fecal matter is 24K. My guess is that a deal will be struck by New Year’s Eve, with the Choo Choo Train Tour starting in January, and in feb both camps will have 3 solid months. This will be the 2nd time in a row, Freddie Roach is outclassed by the Black Mamba, the best trainer in the Sport.
