Former Commissioners Stevens and Gordon Form Color Commentary Duo

This Saturday, August 1st, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing brings world championship boxing back to the Mohegan Sun, when Star Boxing’s IBF #2 rated welterweight Delvin Rodriguez (24-2-2, 14KO) takes on South Africa’s IBF #3 rated Isaac Hlatshwayo (28-1-1, 10KO) for the vacant IBF Welterweight Championship of the World.

The world championship fight, as well as the entire undercard will be broadcast live on GoFighLive.tv. All you need to do is simply go to the site, register and then for only $9.95 you get to see the entire seven bout show!

For the first time in boxing history two former New York State Boxing Athletic Commissioners will be working together on the same boxing broadcast when Ron Scott Stevens and Randy Gordon pair together to do the color commentary for the upcoming Star Boxing promoted show being held at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT. In addition to the live streaming on GoFightLive.tv, the card will be broadcast tape delayed on numerous networks throughout the nation as well as the very popular Sports NY.

Both Stevens and Gordon are highly respectable individuals in the boxing world. In addition to serving at the Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission from 1988 to 1995, Gordon also spent time as the Editor-in- Chief of “The Ring” magazine from 1979 to 1984. This will not be Gordon’s first stint working on the commentary end of a fight either, as he has worked for both the USA Network (83-88) as well as ESPN in the early 1980’s.

In addition to his work as NYS Chairman, in which Stevens served from 2003 to 2009, he has also worked as a ring announcer, color commentator, matchmaker and even promoter Stevens, who also spends time working as a playwright, is credited by many for bringing boxing back to New York City during his reign as Chairman.

Tickets are priced at $125, $75, $45 and $30 and are on sale now through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com or purchase tickets by calling 1-800-745-3000.
