Rojas Gets His Belt

Newly crowned WBC featherweight champion Elio “The Kid” Rojas (21-1, 13 KOs) arrived at Don King’s office in South Florida today to receive his belt that had been rush-delivered by the WBC from Mexico.
Rojas fought in Tokyo on July 14 and took champion Takahiro Aoh’s strap by unanimous decision. It was his first world title appearance.
The 26-year-old 126-pound titlist already celebrated in his adopted hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y., and now plans a truimphant return visit to his native Dominican Republic over the weekend.
