Presscot Picks ‘em: Pacquiao vs Hatton

Why Hatton’s little brother is not being televised is beyond me. If I were Hatton, I would have raised some hell live on HBO’s 24/7 about this travesty. Matthew Hatton is about 1 fight away from a Title shot, and I am sure that the average viewer would be delighted to see this guy fight, instead we get to watch more fodder from GBP (co-promoting the event). I’ll even bet that Oscar, Sugar and Bernard are all strategically in front of the HBO-PPV cameras…and I’ll bet Mario Lopez is in the same row, sans date? Hmmm. I wont go into that.
Anyway, watch for the same version of Manny Pac that steamrolled over Oscar to show up. Same straight ahead style, same lightning hand speed, and same power. However without any changes, watch for a well prepared Ricky Hatton to find chinks in the Filipino armor that a weight drained Oscar de la Hoya was unable to capitalize on. This goes into my theory that Floyd Sr. is the 2nd best trainer in the business now that Futch is gone and Benton is retired. Watch for Ricky to be able to land solid on the smaller man, and watch for Manny not to be handling the punches of a naturally larger man well. The Ace in the Hole for Ricky is that he has already faced a fighter who is light years ahead of Manny Pac in the Pretty Boy. Ricky Hatton has already faced the Devil in Las Vegas, and though he got his ass handed to him, this time at 140, he will be the master inside the ropes. The only thing that concerns me in this fight is Manny’s unnatural advantage in reach.
Hatton needs to keep this one inside. That being said, if he does, his natural size and power will lead him to a close and controversial Split Decision Victory, with a flash KD playing a major role in the razor thin scoring.

Crow is starting to be a staple. All hail Manny Pac, Jesus, what a left hook.
