Power set for big test
Undefeated professional boxer Jamie Power will face the biggest test of his carreer on April 25th in Cork when he faces Georgian boxer George Tevdorashvili.Power who was preparing to have his fifth contest in Madison square garden in the ill fated show that was called off at late notice is now focusing all his attention on the tough Georgian.
Power will have to be at his very best as Tevdorashvili has a record of 4 wins 1 defeat and 1 draw,3 of his wins have come the way of first round knockouts and is ranked higher than Power by the european and world organisations.Powers manager Ken Moore is expecting a tough night for the caherconlish fighter “This is a major step up for Jamie opponentwise we have stepped up the level of competition in all four bouts Jamie has had and he has reponded well but Tevdorashvili represents a diffrent type of opponent he has a winning record is ranked higher than Jamie and has ambitions of his own, ambitions we will have to quash if Jamie is to go on to challenge for the Irish title in the next year.Jamie was obviously disapointed with the MSG show being called off but he knows a victory here can propel him up the rankings and possiby onto bigger things.
PANTERA EYES WINNER OF TAYLOR VS FROCH
March 27th, San Juan Puerto Rico:
This past Friday, Edison Pantera Miranda, put on a show for the boxing fans of London. Before knocking out Joey Vegas in the 5th round at York Hall, he was dancing and moving around the ring like his idol Muhammad Ali. “I knew I had Joey hurt. They said he has a great chin, but even Superman would break down after getting hit by too many of my rocks”. After a little fun, Pantera jumped on his prey with a flurry of unanswered shots and put the end to this one sided fight. It did not take Miranda long to let it be known who he is looking for next. “I want the winner of Taylor vs Froch. Kessler won’t fight me so the winner of this fight is my best option. I want a shot at the top fighters to prove to my fans that this is Edison Miranda’s year.”
Pantera returned to Puerto Rico immediately after his return from London and went back into training. He is willing to fight anyone, anywhere and will take the shortest path possible to fight for a championship. Negotiations are already in the works for other possible bouts to come as early as May. “If Taylor or Froch won’t fight me, I will take the next best fights available. Jermain, you have avoided me for long enough. This time there is nobody that is going to stand in my way. You and I have unfinished business!”
Thanks for your support!

Is Welterweight Actually the Best Division in Boxing….?
Sunday, March 28th 2009
by K.M. STANSEN
I’d figure by now, a lot of hardcore boxing enthusiasts are sick and tired of hearing ‘the best division in boxing’ mentioned every time the word “Welterweight” is brought up during various fight night broadcasts. While it is true that Welterweight was so stacked out with name draws just a blinking memory back, it’s now relatively dry outside of a few stars and somehow the boxing media has not caught on yet, at the expense of not promoting some ridiculously deep divisions that are loaded with talent as of 2009. In this article we’re going to take a detailed look at 2 loaded out divisions, then compare them with the active Welterweight division, which will show both how the boxing landscape has changed in the last two years and how much more under looked divisions are booming with class A talent, only needing the matches to be made.

Hitman Over Pacman
March 28th 2009
by Jesse Rican
Ricky Hatton has slowly become a household name and so has his opponent Manny Pacquiao. Each man carries their country on their back, and both have a lot to gain and a lot to lose. With that being said, I think that the Pacman will fight his heart out and maybe take some early rounds, but as the match goes on I think Ricky’s hitting power will become evident…and he will KO Pac in the 8th. We’ve already seen Manny get knocked out twice in the third round, and he’s lost twice to Juan Manuel Marquez, in my opinion but that’s another story. Secondly, I would like to point out that Hatton’s only loss, was to the best boxer out there, and even Floyd had to admit that Hatton was like a pitbull… and he was amazed by his ability to keep coming. Now, I know all of the Manny lovers will bring up his destruction of De La Hoya, but maybe if they fought five years ago it would have been a different story… but to beat a weight- drained, old De La Hoya is not that impressive. Not to take anything away from Manny, because he is a great and exciting boxer, but I think that “The Hitman” is on another level. If there’s anyway that Hatton will lose again, it will be against the likes of a Miguel Cotto or even Juan Manuel Marquez.
Eddie Chambers MD Sam Peter, Atlas Forgets Class At Home
Saturday, March 28th 2009
by Suge Green
Fast Eddie Chambers was victorious in a tough 10 round heavyweight battle on ESPN2′s FridayNightFights. Eddie did what needed to be done in order to get the win, but almost as notable about the broadcast last night was the fact that Teddy Atlas proves he is the douche he’s often accused of being by berating Chambers in front of a live world wide audience, during the post fight interview following his greatest victory. OnTheGrind Boxing apologizes for the entire boxing media world on behalf of this inconsiderate, though rightfully esteemed ass. Granted, Atlas still knows more about the sport than the combined full time (only) staff of OnTheGrind Boxing…however, without an apology to Eddie, Atlas shows himself to lack the heart of even one of boxing’s biggest ass holes…me. Luckily the significance of the incident was minimized by Chambers’ mild mannered demeanor, Atlas could stand to learn something from the young heavyweight. “The meek shall inherit the earth,” reads the Good Book, and Eddie Chambers is meek in spirit and fast in fist. Amen
Analysis: Samuel “Nigerian Nightmare” Peter vs “Fast” Eddie Chambers…In-depth with Igor
Last week, viewers of Klitschko-Gomez got to see yet another boring fight in the heavyweight division, something that has become the norm in recent years. ESPN is back this week with another heavyweight fight, but even though Sam Peter and Eddie Chambers haven’t stepped into the ring yet, the matchup has already disappointed anybody who’s seen the results of the weighi n. There were rumors during the past few months that Peter’s team wasn’t happy with his training habits and the rumors appear to be true since Peter has come in at a disgraceful all time high, 265 pounds.
I would favor Chambers to win a close decision over a top conditioned Peter like the one we saw in the Wlad fight, so it’s hard for me to see anything other than a huge beatdown for Peter tonight when he’ll be fighting in the worst shape of his career. I will be surprised if Peter even lasts the distance.
In top shape, Peter would have a lot of trouble landing meaningful punches against Chambers and would need to outwork him to win rounds. So at 265 where Peter is bound to have major stamina and workrate problems, all he could hope for is stopping Chambers with an early assault, something highly unlikely since Chambers has a solid defensive guard and is very comfortable dealing with pressure.
