ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG recently had the opportunity to talk with former World Welterweight Champion, Kermit Cintron (pictured with welterweight rival Andre Berto in happier times). The light middleweight and welterweight contender played OtG's word association game "Rapid Fire," with me live on-air for the worldwide ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG Family. Check out the excerpt below.
Manny Pacquiao...
Cintron: "Great fighter, he's a great fighter. No fighter out there right now is stepping in with him, you know? And Manny Pacquiao is still coming outta there with vicious victories man. You gotta give it to the guy, just a great fighter.
Shane Mosley...
Cintron: "Love Shane Mosley, love his style. I think that him and I have the same style/attitude in that we're somewhat similar/alike, because he'll fight anybody that steps in the ring with him. And u know, I'm gonna give him a shot against Pacquiao. I'm actually gonna root for Mosley for sure. Thirty-eight, thirty-nine years old... but I know he has it in him. He can still punch, he can still fight.
Floyd Mayweather...
Cintron: "Man, he's just a confused fighter for right now. I don't know what it is about him man, don't know what he wants in life. You know, he's also a helluva fighter, love his defense. I just think he needs to fight Pacquiao. A lot of people are asking what will happen, and the fight needs to happen to answer those questions."
Miguel Cotto...
Cintron: "Good fighter. I've been trying to get a fight with him for a long time now, unfortunately the fight the fight still has not happened. I feel like he hit a plateau. He's stuck in that one level. He hasn't gone above and beyond ever since the fight with Margarito."
Andre Berto...
Cintron: "Andre Berto is a....can i say this on the radio? I mean, to me...this guy is a girly girl. He needs to step it up and fight somebody. I've been calling him out for awhile now, and really he hasn't give me any answers. Only answers from him are excuses, but whatever man. I will continue my career...and maybe he'll step up you know, and fight me."

Cintron saying that another fighter is making excuses............oh the irony
